This tool pairs a first-name word bank (harsh, otherworldly invented names like Zar'kon, Vex-Thal, Xyla'ra, Vesh'ka) with an optional species-name word bank (Kryllian, Zephyrite, Voidborn, Nexarian) to generate full alien character names.
Switch between Male and Female using the gender selector, which draws first names from a dedicated bank tuned for each.
About half the generated names include a species affiliation and half are just the first name alone, giving you a mix of shorter and more elaborate options in each batch.

Naming a species vs. naming an individual
The species affiliation ("of the Kryllian," "of the Voidborn") is the fastest way to make a whole cast of aliens feel like they belong to the same fictional universe without inventing a naming convention from scratch. A practical approach for worldbuilding: generate a handful of batches first and pick one species name you like, then generate standalone first names — ignoring the species tag on each result — for every individual character who belongs to that species. That gives you internal consistency (everyone from the Kryllian is recognizably named) while still letting each character's first name stand on its own the way a human name would in an English-language story.
For a single one-off NPC, like a merchant your players will talk to for two minutes, the full form with a species tag does more work in less space, since it tells the audience both the character's name and what kind of being they are in one line.

Will I get the same name twice?
Each batch of eight is generated to avoid duplicates within that batch, but different batches can occasionally repeat a name since the word banks are limited in size.

To get species-only ideas, generate a few batches and note the species words that appear (Kryllian, Voidborn, Nexarian, and so on), then reuse one across all the individuals from that species.
Will two different alien characters end up with the same species affiliation?
It's possible within the same session, since the species word bank is limited in size, but you can just keep the species you want and generate new batches until you get first names you like, ignoring whichever species tag comes attached.
Do the male and female name banks share any words?
No — Male and Female each draw first names from separate, dedicated word banks, so switching the selector gives you a genuinely different set of names rather than the same pool relabeled.
Is there a limit to how many times I can generate?
